The Full Story of the Ramayana
Introduction
Prabu Janaka, the King of Mantili Kingdom, has a beautiful daughter named Dewi Shinta. To find a worthy husband for her, a competition is held. The prince of Ayodya Kingdom, Raden Rama Wijaya, wins the competition and marries Dewi Shinta.

Meanwhile, Prabu Rahwana, the ruler of Alengkadiraja Kingdom, has long desired to marry Dewi Widowati. Upon seeing Shinta, he believes that she is the reincarnation of Dewi Widowati, whom he has been waiting for.

Dandaka Forest

Rama, along with his wife Shinta and his younger brother Laksmana, embarks on a journey that leads them to Dandaka Forest. There, Rahwana sees Shinta and becomes obsessed with possessing her. To achieve his goal, he orders one of his followers, Marica, to transform into a golden deer—Kijang Kencana—to lure Shinta. Enchanted by the deer’s beauty, Shinta asks Rama to capture it for her. Rama leaves to hunt the deer, leaving Shinta in Laksmana’s care.

As time passes, Shinta grows anxious about Rama’s absence and asks Laksmana to go find him. Before leaving, Laksmana draws a magical protective circle around Shinta, warning her not to step outside it.

Seeing Shinta alone, Rahwana attempts to kidnap her but is unable to cross the magic circle. He then disguises himself as an old beggar. Moved by compassion, Shinta steps out of the circle to give him alms. The moment she does, Rahwana seizes her and flies away to Alengka Kingdom.

Chasing the Deer
Rama finally shoots the golden deer with a magical arrow, but the deer transforms back into the giant Marica. A fierce battle ensues, and Rama ultimately kills Marica. Soon after, Laksmana arrives and urges Rama to return to Shinta.

The Kidnapping of Shinta
On his way to Alengka, Rahwana encounters Jatayu, a noble bird. Realizing that Shinta is the daughter of Prabu Janaka, Jatayu attempts to rescue her. However, Rahwana overpowers and fatally wounds Jatayu.

When Rama and Laksmana return to find Shinta missing, they begin searching for her. They come across Jatayu, who is gravely injured. Initially, Rama suspects Jatayu of abducting Shinta and prepares to kill him, but Laksmana stops him. Jatayu then explains what happened before succumbing to his injuries.

Shortly afterward, they meet Hanuman, a white monkey sent by his uncle Sugriwa to find warriors capable of defeating Subali, who had unjustly taken Sugriwa’s beloved, Dewi Tara. Rama agrees to help Sugriwa.

Kiskendo Cave
Subali, Dewi Tara, and their son are in Kiskendo Cave when Sugriwa arrives with Rama’s help. Sugriwa fights and defeats Subali, reclaiming Dewi Tara. In gratitude, Sugriwa pledges his support to Rama in the search for Shinta. He sends Hanuman as an envoy to Alengka.

Argasoka Garden
At Alengka, Shinta is held captive in Argasoka Garden, where she is comforted by Rahwana’s kind niece, Trijata. Rahwana arrives and demands that Shinta become his wife, but she refuses. Enraged, Rahwana attempts to kill her, but Trijata intervenes and promises to protect her.

As Shinta grieves, she suddenly hears a melodious song sung by Hanuman. Hanuman reveals his mission to help her, sent by Rama. After assuring her of Rama’s plan, Hanuman assesses Alengka’s military strength and then destroys the royal garden.

Rahwana’s son, Indrajid, captures Hanuman. Although Rahwana’s brother, Kumbakarna, tries to prevent this injustice, he is cast out of the kingdom. Hanuman is sentenced to be burned alive. However, with flames engulfing his body, Hanuman uses the fire to set Alengka’s palace ablaze before escaping.

Rama’s Bridge
After Hanuman’s mission, Rama and his army of monkeys march to the sea and construct a bridge to Alengka. Once the bridge is completed, Hanuman returns and reports on the strength of Alengka’s forces. Pleased with the report, Rama orders Hanuman, Hanggada, Hanila, and Jambawan to lead the attack.

The Great War
As the Alengka army stands guard at the kingdom’s borders, Rama’s forces launch a surprise attack. A massive battle erupts. Indrajid is slain by Laksmana, and Kumbakarna dies a heroic death fighting for his kingdom.

With his strongest warriors defeated, Rahwana himself takes command of the Alengka army and faces Rama in battle. In the end, Rama kills Rahwana with a divine arrow, and Hanuman drops Mount Sumawana on Rahwana’s body, ensuring his demise.

The Reunion of Rama and Shinta
After Rahwana’s death, Shinta is brought before Rama by Hanuman. However, Rama rejects her, doubting her purity after being held captive in Alengka. Heartbroken, Shinta decides to prove her innocence by walking into a blazing fire.

By divine intervention, the God of Fire saves Shinta, confirming her purity. Overcome with joy, Rama finally accepts her again, and they reunite.

• No seat numbers are assigned. Visitors are free to choose their seats within the selected ticket zone.

Outdoor Theatre/Open Air Theatre
