Jurang Tembelan – Sunrise with a Cloud Backdrop

Located in Kanigoro Village, Mangunan, Bantul (25 km from Yogyakarta), Jurang Tembelan is a perfect destination for photography lovers. The main activity here is capturing the stunning early-morning scenery, where the rolling hills are often covered with clouds, creating a surreal experience.

Jomblang Cave – A Vertical Caving Adventure

Gunung Kidul Regency is home to hundreds of caves, categorized as vertical (luweng) and horizontal caves. Among them, Jomblang Cave (Luweng Jomblang) and Grubug Cave (Luweng Grubug) stand out as the most famous.

Jomblang Cave is known for its unique "Light of Heaven" phenomenon, where sunlight streams through a hole in the ceiling, creating a magical atmosphere. The adventure involves:

Rappelling 60 meters down into the cave using specialized equipment.
Exploring the cave’s interior with a professional guide.
Witnessing the stunning light shaft illuminating the cave floor.

Important Notes:

Not suitable for those with a fear of heights or claustrophobia.
Only accessible during the dry season (May–October) for safety reasons.

Jomblang Cave Closure for Lebaran Holidays

March 31 – April 1, 2025: Jomblang Cave will be closed for Hari Raya Idul Fitri (Lebaran).

Lebaran is a major Indonesian holiday marking the end of Ramadan. During this time, many locals travel to visit family, leading to limited availability of tours and services.
