Waisak 2026 Visitor Information - Borobudur and Prambanan Temple Access

Please take note of the special opening schedule during this period:

Saturday, 30 May
Both Borobudur Temple and Prambanan Temple welcome visitors from sunrise to sunset, offering a full day to explore these magnificent UNESCO heritage sites.

Sunday, 31 May - Vesak (Waisak) Day
Borobudur Temple will be closed throughout the day in observance of the sacred Vesak celebration.
Meanwhile, Prambanan Temple remains open as usual.

Monday, 1 June
Borobudur Temple is open from sunrise to sunset, perfect for a peaceful visit after the celebration.
Prambanan Temple will be closed on this day.
