Sunrise at Setumbu Hill

Located approximately 4 kilometers from Borobudur, this vantage point provides a panoramic view of the temple, Mount Merapi, and Mount Merbabu as they emerge from the morning mist.

Borobudur Temple
Constructed by the Sailendra Dynasty between AD 780 and 840, Borobudur stands as the largest Buddhist monument in the world. Designed as a sacred site for worship and pilgrimage, the temple symbolizes the journey from worldly desires toward enlightenment. Rediscovered in 1814 by the British under Sir Thomas Stamford Raffles, it was fully uncovered by 1835.

Pawon & Mendut Temples
During early 20th-century restoration, it was determined that Pawon and Mendut Temples align precisely with Borobudur, suggesting an ancient ritualistic connection.
• Pawon Temple – Situated 1.15 kilometers from Borobudur.
• Mendut Temple – Located 3 kilometers from Borobudur.

Merapi Lava Tour – Kaliadem
